What makes the EFFAS Certified ESG Analyst® (CESGA) distinctive?

The EFFAS Certified ESG Analyst® (CESGA) programme is a comprehensive tool made by practitioners for practitioners and covers all relevant topics that an ESG expert needs, giving special emphasis to areas that other programmes in the market tackle superficially or completely overlook, such as:

  • Asset Classes: unlike other programmes, the EFFAS Certified ESG Analyst® (CESGA) accentuates the importance of different asset classes dedicating this area one complete module which looks at sovereign and green bonds as well as private equity and commodities.
  • Due Diligence: the CESGA provides a pattern to approach systematically the ESG valuation that professionals can apply to their daily work.

The programme also provides you with an in-depth background to:

  • ESG Data: The most important input for ESG valuation, receives special attention in the EFFAS Certified ESG Analyst® (CESGA)  programme. The current lack of quality data is still a challenge confronting ESG investors.
  • ESG Reporting and Regulation: The EFFAS Certified ESG Analyst® (CESGA) analyses recent developments and lays emphasis on the regulatory environment at the European level. These regulations are especially important as they are highly relevant to all companies and investment professionals. Since the regulations in these fields change so quickly, we update the Programme yearly in this area.

Global social and environmental challenges, regulatory and reputational risks, market scandals and new market opportunities make environmental, social and governance information (ESG) a data source of growing importance.

In this context, the integration of ESG information in the investment process chain and in valuation is essential. So far, only a few approaches and even fewer solutions exist that support investment professionals in the integration of ESG. Although considered increasingly relevant for investment decisions, it is estimated that still less than 15% of investment professionals receive some kind of structured ESG training.

This is confirmed by the World Economic Forum, which considers that inadequate education and valuation models of ESG are one of the most important barriers for integrating ESG variables into the mainstream of investment decisions.

The EFFAS Certified ESG Analyst® (CESGA) programme aims to overcome this challenge by providing the necessary training for the efficient valuation, measurement and integration of ESG issues into investment analysis.

Who is the EFFAS Certified ESG Analyst® (CESGA) programme for? (Potential candidates)

The EFFAS Certified ESG Analyst® (CESGA) programme is particularly aimed at financial analysts and portfolio managers who want to integrate ESG data into their capital allocation processes, but also, in general, it is for all investment professionals increasingly committed to ESG issues. Other specialists such as corporate sustainability officers, people in investor relations, auditors and consultants will find the EFFAS Certified ESG Analyst® (CESGA) interesting to help develop a better understanding of the needs of capital markets in terms of ESG information.
